PRA’s internal Patient Access and Retention Services group liaises directly with strategic partners to build highly targeted, customized patient recruitment and retention campaigns. These are based on:

  • Individual study requirements
  • Target patient population according to disease area
  • Typical treatment process by country/region
  • Critical patient access points
  • Identified study-specific recruitment and retention challenges

 

Information on study parameters is gathered quickly via a cooperative effort between PRA’s therapeutic experts, medical informatics group, and Patient Access team. At the same time there are extensive databases of historical patient recruitment and retention in a wide range of disease areas and patient groups.

  • Text and e-messaging 
  •  Web-based recruitment and retention strategies
    •  On-line ‘marketing’ for recruitment 
      • Promotes patient awareness and involvement

      • Allows very specific micro-targeting of patient populations (e.g., oncology)


This critical information is combined with information from PRA partners to provide:

  • Country specific regulatory guidelines
  • Cultural factors bearing on patient recruitment/retention
  • Patient group (pediatric etc)
  • Rarity of the disease
  • Size of patient population

 

The total combination of data is used to produce a customized patient recruitment/retention strategy. Our approach means you have  greater control over the outcome of the recruitment investment and ROI. At each stage sponsors can monitor the development of the patient communities relevant to their study and in collaboration with PRA experts make modifications to the study/recruitment parameters if required.
