Management Values
PRA's core purpose and core values are components of corporate identity
that transcend product or market life cycles, technological breakthroughs,
management fads, and individual leaders. They remain constant even as the
company's business strategies and management practices continually adapt to
a changing business environment, and they provide the glue that holds the
organization together.
No organization can operate effectively without the trust of its
customers, employees, suppliers and other constituencies. The key to this
trust is consistent ethical behavior and integrity by everyone in the
organization. Ethical behavior means conducting oneself according to
generally accepted standards in clinical research and business practices,
and never knowingly doing harm. Integrity means that one consistently and
reliably does what they say they will do, on a personal and professional
level. Unquestionable ethical behavior and integrity means maintaining
standards that avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

Consistent and measurable quality in everything
we do
PRA understands that the essence of a successful service business is the
delivery of quality services in a reliable manner. PRA defines quality as
meeting or exceeding all of the requirements of its customers in a
professional manner that is free of ethical, regulatory and scientific
deficiencies. Reliability means that the company delivers on its promises
and commitments to its customers, including meeting expectations, time
frames and budgets for all projects.

Outstanding service and flexibility to meet
customer requirements
PRA differentiates itself in the market through its outstanding level of
customer service. Every project is considered important and the approach and
processes used are tailored to each customer's individual needs. PRA's
regional offices each support a limited number of customers. This
ensures continuity in the business relationship and stable project teams.
Finally, a complete cross-functional senior management team is assigned to
every major customer to provide top-level peer-to-peer interactions,
strategize and review all major programs and plan the resources needed to
meet critical research timelines.

Commitment to staff development and
collaboration
PRA's performance depends on its ability to attract and retain qualified
professional, scientific and technical staff. The company's goal is to
create a professional environment that attracts, develops and retains
outstanding employees who are committed to personal career growth in the
clinical development arena and delivering high quality services in a team
environment. A culture of continuous improvement and innovation and staff
that constantly seeks better skills, methods, and approaches to problem
solving are critical to the company's success.
PRA operates in an environment of complex, unstructured problem solving
and demanding deadlines where consistent and sustained performance requires
collective effort. PRA's decentralized organizational structure depends
heavily upon a strong commitment by its entire staff to teamwork and
collaborative effort. The ability to quickly and efficiently form teams to
conduct projects, and effective collaboration among customers and our
operations groups, are important factors in the company's
success.

Demonstrated technical and therapeutic
excellence throughout the company
As an international business helping customers reach global markets, PRA
is often called upon to conduct research in multiple countries, integrate
research results in an integrated global database, and prepare clinical
trials results for submission to multiple international regulatory
authorities. In order to be efficient and accurate in this process, its
operations worldwide must be fully integrated and conduct business processes
in a similar manner.
PRA's international management team meets regularly to review operations and
has the authority to immediately modify any corporate system, process,
procedure, or policy that it feels may be hindering international
collaboration.
A world-class information technology and communications
infrastructure ties together the desktop activities and connects every PRA
employee through a standard architecture and user interface.
Business development staff is centralized internationally to ensure that
sales interactions with customers are approached in similar manner, and
multiple offices jointly bid and manage programs conducted in
multiple countries.
Similarly, business services staff is centralized to
ensure consistent business practices worldwide.
At the operations level, PRA's systems, processes and standard operating
procedures are harmonized among its offices worldwide and the company conducts
routine internal quality assurance audits to assess compliance with its
standard business practices.
